New songs and great shows April to May!
What a month April turned out to be – so wonderful! Scott Dailey and I had a sold out show at Trinity House Theatre with Mary McGuire, Laura Rain and George Friend on April 19th in Livonia, Michigan. Then Scott Dailey, Ron Wolf and I performed at the NFL Draft day in the D – Detroit downtown at Capitol Park on April 25th.. These shows were some of our best and we’re grateful! And our 2nd release of 2024 is out now! Here is “Blue Ridiculous Love” released on April 26th. It will be on all digital sites – Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora et al, and the YouTube lyric/imagery video is here, too.
“Blue Ridiculous Love” has a hypnotic energy, soaring voice of poetry melody and a singing guitar hook. driving drums propelling energy of the song of wistful love and hope, “Blue Ridiculous Love” has truths and questions, both. (Inner Door Music, 2024).”

May is also bringing our upcoming 3rd Release, “Piano Moon,” a flourish of an instrumental song with a nod to gypsy classical and Trans-Siberian Express that’s a pleaser! Excited to bring that song out soon/
And there are some new shows to talk about for June in the next blog, both in northern Michigan and down here in Detroit. Stay tuned – these are some nice ones coming up in June at the Nor-East’r Music Festival and in Detroit at the Cadieux Cafe We’ve had good airplay in Detroit and through Michigan with “14 Miles of Bad Road” and hoping to continue it with the new “Blue Ridiculous Love.” Thank you.
And a new Detroit Energy Asylum CD is on its way. Detroit Energy Asylum was a collective of marvelous Detroit musicians. While I fronted the band, wrote most of the songs, and sang and played keyboards and guitar, we were a true force of nature onstage together as a unit and in the studio, if I can say so myself (thank you!) DEA was something to see and hear. So stay tuned for an update on this album from Orchide Records Detroit and Freddie Brooks. It sounds great and features David McMurray, Luis Resto and much more.
There is more to say, but alas, time is flying, I’m teaching and singing, and Scott and I are so honored to have so many special new songs and opportunities. Saluting the Universe and praying for peace xo
Love,
Carolyn, Scott and the band

“Love the colour of your heartfelt voice, lovely intro on ‘Cornered Room’ great song! ‘Let It Go’ another favourite of mine, nice rapping, and love the gypsy feel on ‘Russian Inn’ beautiful violinist. Stunning album, love it”
Striho continues to share her brilliance, effortlessly moving from bluesy and jazzy to belted out rock & roll. Her latest release, Afterthought, showcases all of these styles, along with a few more that might surprise people. The musical poetry is undeniably Striho however, and she manages to pull everything together with the ease of a seasoned pro and the flair of a master illusionist. She makes her own creative path and people can’t help but follow where she leads…
“Afterthought moves through a host of musical moods, from the moodier, darker vibe of the opening title track to exotic gypsy-rock feel of “Russian Inn” to the lively, driving sound of “Love Won’t Stay Close” which you can hear exclusively for now in this Freep First Spin debut.”
