News from Carolyn
Beautiful November!
The Carolyn Striho Group is performing with The Orbitsuns on Saturday night, November 19th the weekend before Thanksgiving at The Cadieux Café in Detroit. With Scott Dailey, Todd Glass and John Barron rounding up the band that night, we’ll be performing new songs and many from my catalogue and surprise favorites. The Orbitsuns will follow up with a great set, too! Let’s celebrate November at The Cadieux Café where our shows with The Orbitsuns started in 2019. And it’s my birthday month, hurray. More details at http://www.cadieuxcafe.com
And my music fill be featured on WRIF Detroit’s Motor City Riffs on Sunday night, November 13 2022 at 9 pm EST. Tune in to hear The Carolyn Striho Group on 101 FM WRIF here at https://wrif.com/shows/motor-city-riffs/
Thanks also for the airplay on WDET-FM/NPR Detroit and on WHFR Dearborn – appreciated!
We performed at the Detroit Free Press Marathon in October to cheer the runners in October on a big morning in Detroit and Windsor, Canada. And I performed at a gorgeous wedding in Detroit in September.
The new recordings are coming soon as I’m working on 4 more songs to add to the album and finishing storyboarding a new video. Then there is the book and some new readings and working on another book. My songs have been on 3 compilation albums in the last 4 years in the U.S. and the U.K., and “Afterthought” was also included in a feature film, “Poor Greg Drowning.”
Upcoming is the single release will be coming for “I Will Rise,” then the EP/album with another couple of surprise releases with Erin Zindle (from Erin & The Ragbirds) and a new Striho/Detroit Energy Asylum release on Orchide Records – stay tuned and thanks for being patient!
Steady as she goes, wild leaves and trees ablaze. To November nirvana dark nights and new bells…let’s go.
Love,
Carolyn x

Striho continues to share her brilliance, effortlessly moving from bluesy and jazzy to belted out rock & roll. Her latest release, Afterthought, showcases all of these styles, along with a few more that might surprise people. The musical poetry is undeniably Striho however, and she manages to pull everything together with the ease of a seasoned pro and the flair of a master illusionist. She makes her own creative path and people can’t help but follow where she leads…
“Afterthought moves through a host of musical moods, from the moodier, darker vibe of the opening title track to exotic gypsy-rock feel of “Russian Inn” to the lively, driving sound of “Love Won’t Stay Close” which you can hear exclusively for now in this Freep First Spin debut.”
